Exercises to Improve Erectile Function

Research has proved that pelvic floor exercises – also called kegels exercises can help ease erectile dysfunction and men who performed these exercises regularly along with oral treatments like viagra, cialis and levitra greatly improved their erectile function.

In a famous research, patients who had the problem of erectile dysfunction were divided into two groups. The members of one group were advised with lifestyle modifications alone. The members of another group were taught pelvic floor exercises and were advised to do those exercises along with some lifestyle modifications. After three months the result of the research showed that the members of the second group showed a good improvement.

Pelvic Exercises

Exercises do help to get long term solution for erectile dysfunction. Kegal or pelvic floor exercise help in strengthening the pelvic muscles. These exercises are suggested not only to people with erectile dysfunction, but also to patients who lack urine control. Basic pelvic floow exercises include tightening the muscles around the anus and urethra. Contract the muscles and count up to 10. Relax for 10 seconds and repeat the same for 8-10 times. This is very simple to do, but has miraculous effects.

Aerobics and Yoga

Aerobic exercises are also effective to treat erectile dysfunction. Aerobic exercises reduce the cholesterol levels and ensure a free flow of blood which is essential for erection.
Yogic exercises are very good to treat erectile dysfunctions. There are many yogic poses that are said to cure erectile dysfunction. The butterfly pose is the best. Sit on the floor with the legs wide apart. Bend the knees and bring the feet close to your body. Other poses like forward bend, wheel pose, frog pose and many more are beneficial to men with erectile dysfunction.

Other exercises

Regular exercising like walking, cycling and swimming etc can also have positive effects on erectile dysfunction. Regular exercise routine helps in the drop of high blood pressure and triglycerides which are amongst the main causes of erectile dysfunction. Exercises like weight lifting increase the level of testosterone. A low testosterone level is another cause for erectile dysfunction.
